Orange-Raisin Sauce

It requires little skill or patience to prepare this orange-based sauce to serve with baked ham.

Ingredients

2 cups orange juice
1/4 cup raisins
8 to 10 whole cloves
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. Dijon-style mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
Orange slice
Mint sprig

Directions

Combine orange juice, raisins and cloves in saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 8 to 10 min.

In small bowl. combine cornstarch, water, mustard and salt, blending well. Slowly stir into orange juice mixture. Cook. stirring, 3 to 5 min. longer or until thickened.

Transfer to serving bowl. Float an orange slice on top. Garnish with mint sprig.

Comments

2 cups sauce

Good served with: Baked ham, scalloped potatoes and buttered green beans.

If you wish, use 1/2 cup sauce to baste ham during last 30 min. of baking.
